He wanted to polish his yarn art skills - yes, knitting.
But, not the average scarf or sweater - he set his mind of knitting a yarn art for the tree. Pretty unusual, right? Yes, and while working full time, as we do, he was knitting whenever he could: in the car, waiting for doctor's’ appointment, watching tv - every minute was spent knitting.
After few weeks, his yarn art project was ready. It attracted attention of numerous art blogs and magazines, which featured him and his creation. It was certainly not planned but he was happy like the things turned out. After a while he started designing yarn art for local children’s hospital and charity. By taking small steps each day, he finally became motivational speaker for TedEx, telling that in order to achieve your goal, you don’t need to change who you are - you simply need to adjust your daily routine slightly to do accommodate the required work.
It takes one hour each day, if done regularly, to achieve the life of your dreams.
So if you are still putting away starting your business or a new project, because you are working full time - remember, an hour each day is enough to live the life of your dreams. Start working on your dream today!
This is so true for many entrepreneurs - we neglect the importance of a healthy diet when running a business. We grab something quickly, get fast food takeaways, with no fruit or vegetable present for days. Then we feel sedated and sleepy.
Try eating only healthy food for few days, nothing fried or processed. Plenty of fruits, veggies, water, joghurts, and whole grain bread - notice how it affects your moods. You will become more optimistic, have new ideas and more drive to take your business forward. Let me know how it went and how you feel!
Here are some reasons why New Year’s Resolutions fail and what you should be doing instead.
2. Stop Rushing
Like every new experience, most people are excited about doing something new to better themselves. But because they don’t realize that the path to a better version of themselves is usually a long and arduous one, they give up in the middle of the journey. Why? This is because most people expect the change they want to come immediately and easily give up when they don’t get it.
So in order to really follow through and keep committing to your goal, it’s better to take it slow and steady rather than crash and burn in the middle of your journey. Remember, this isn’t a contest between you and others.
3. Do Things in Increments
Any kind of change will involve some struggle at the beginning. One of the reasons why most people fail at keeping their resolutions is that they always want to do the big changes right away. Instead of wanting to do something grand immediately, why not do small things in a incremental manner? This allows you to gradually adjust to smaller changes and will help you reach your goal eventually. So for example, if you’re planning to get fit this year, instead of getting a gym membership right away, start by doing a few sets of push ups every day to help prepare you physically and psychologically for the next steps.
4. Enjoy and Embrace the Journey
Aside from recognizing that this journey to a better version of yourself will be quite long and will involve some difficult challenges, it is important that you also embrace the journey. Appreciate every little step you take toward that change and keep track of your progress while you’re at it. You’ll be quite surprised at how far you could go in a span of weeks or months.
