Clafoutis Creations is a party ware shop based in New York. Anne, the owner, has gathered most impressive selection of party accessories, from tableware, treat bags to a home décor. You could see the effort she had put in selecting the items on almost every page of the web-shop.
Almost. And that was the problem. The homepage looked so unassuming and bare you hardly expected to find fireworks of amazement right past it.
The header area took majority of the above the fold space, and the sliding banners were over-sized and showed hand drawn illustration, with no real CTA. The homepage seemed to belong to a child’s book store or an illustrator.
Featured products didn’t represent the amazing selection Anne had to offer. In order to improve the homepage and make a right first impression, Anne got in touch with an business management consultant at Rock Paper Copy.
Banner and CTA
We have started by re-sizing the logo to bring the banner up the page. We have designed three new promo images for Clafoutis slide show, showcasing Anne’s chosen collections: St Patrick’s Day, Easter and Liberty of London.
We have cropped each image to be displayed above the fold and added strong CTA (Call to Action) to each one.
Right now an online visitor, landing on Anne’s homepage, knows right away it’s a party ware store and feels more confident wanting to make a purchase.
Featured images area was used to display Anne’s stunning selection, while following her desire to promote three seasonal collections.
Each set offered something different, therefore we picked items that not only looked good grouped together on a front page, but also showed array of color themes Clafoutis had on offer and promoted sought after seasonal products: Easter and upcoming St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
