Bubba Bambu is an online shop with Bamboo baby’s clothes and accessories. Donna, the owner, set up a store after months of looking for suitable garments for her son’s sensitive skin.
Only after discovering a bamboo fabric she started noticing improvement. As new to UK, there was little choice of bamboo styles available. Having no other choice, Donna decided to set-up her own business, making the bamboo clothing and helping other parents in similar situation.
Bubba Bambu, when launched, had a great selection of towels, bibs and clothing, but lacked the initial wow-factor on a homepage. Traffic was still scarce and little written content did nothing to improve that.
Donna, wanting to see her brand grow, turned to Ecommerce experts at Rock Paper Copy for help.
Branding & Layout
We began the project by adding bold and colorful banner to a homepage showing Donna’s striking Monster Cuddleroar Towel.
The FREE delivery promo panel, originally featured at the top, was pushing the website content down and below the fold. We removed it and pinned it to the bottom of each page. This has lifted the site content above the fold.
The product page layout got a make-over too. Featured Kudobuzz review app at the top of the page made ‘Add to Cart’ and product description disappear beneath the fold.
By moving the app to the bottom of the page and lifting the key elements up the page, we effectively improved Donna’s conversion rate.
Content & SEO
Shipping and Returns page as well as About us page were added and both received SEO friendly 500+ words long content with H tags and internal links.
We have also created Contact us page with a hyperlinked email address, as the Facebook contact form Donna was originally using didn’t build the store’s credibility.
Bubba Bambu had two domains registered, but no 301 re-direct in place. This made Google read it as two different sites with a duplicate content. As it can affect the rank, we fixed it by setting up redirection.
SEO friendly H tags were inserted into each page, and all written content was optimized using word cloud and readability tool.
